This actually happened. Finally got approved for a Wacom tablet at work, only to find it had a tiny 4"x5" working area...

I ended up bringing my own tablet to work :/

Also, Jessie's slightly loopy supervisor is back. Her name is Cheryl.

I did this with keyboards. I asked for an ergonomic one and they bought me like a 500 dollar one that had the keyboard literally separated into four parts. They keys were divided into two which were fine, you were supposed to set them at a 45 degree angle, but the space bar, alt keys were separate with a blow up wrist rest and a no number key pad.

I ended up having them return it and used a microsoft ergonomic one I brought in.

I am a tad confused. I see sat 9pm on my computer and yet the post date for this is sunday already?. Clearly that tablet has mighty tardis like time drawing powers!!

I have to laugh at the excited squeeee girl and then the look on our heroines face seeing said real IT upgrade. Just like at the holidays when you wanted a bike and you find inside the box is 6 pairs of socks..the itchy wool ones too.

@Unhooked "It's a little small..." Pair that up with a 24" monitor, and moving a millimeter on the tablet will have the cursor dashing a foot across the screen :D

@Pakesh The site's timezone is UTC. It used to be on US Eastern time, but that ended up causing some headaches during the Daylight Savings changes.

I've always asked to myself : why a so big package for such small thing ? I doubt Jessie can draw very detailed pictures on this .....................

At least it looks like a newer bamboo 450 model, if they continue the technology level like they start with Jessies computer, it could have been an old ArtpadII they gave her (or is it? I don't have the model numbers all memorized, just by color it could also be a graphire or something). Nice small tablet, but unusable with any resolution higher than 1024 pixels. And with Jans upgrades I don't think this computer still has serial ports...

And hey, cute lynx girl is back. Me: "hey Cheryl, wanna go for a spin?" Cheryl: "Yaaay!!!" (stars spinning with her desk chair)

@Kangaar Foxfire: this can be answered very clearly: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metric_system#/media/File:Metric_system_adoption_map.svg just look for the biggest grey area, looks familiar, doesn't it? :->

@soriac, I believe that there are five(?) countries that haven't adopted the metric system as yet. The US keeps inching, every so slowly, toward it though. Have you tried to find half-gallon of soda? Nope, 2 liter. Half-gallon ice cream? Nope, 1.75 liter. It's coming, just too slowly for some.

@Jan UTC? Is that what we used to call Greenwich Mean Time, aka Zulu in the military?

That's happened to me at my last two jobs, a lot of mouse work and eventually my wrists were feeling the strain (literally). I finally brought my own trackballs in. I admit I get a kick when someone from IT comes in and mistakes the trackball for a mouse and starts sliding it over the desk. Still, two sexy ladies in this strip, that makes me feel better.

I.. waith there WAS 4x5 tablet by wacom? I thhought that I had the smallest one (in RS232 era), that was 7" wide

And helll, maybe they held those since 90s, when difference between small one and something like S4 was thousands in price :P

@Kangaar Foxfire all countries still measure screens, and plumbing pipes in inches. And standard paper size, even while being given inmm often, are inch-based
