Programmers have something called source control that allows people to collaboratively work on program code together.

If 2 programmers edit the same line of code and submit conflicting lines to source control, you get a merge conflict and the programmers have to work it out.

Thus, the cereal is conflicting with Jan's guts ;P

Okay, a better explanation, without the sarcasm... gotcha...

Two developers changed the same piece of code.

One of them got his changes through review first.

Now the other has to spend a few hours reworking his changes -- because if two people change the same part of the same file, well... they end up stepping on each other's feet, right? Right? It's like ten cooks in a kitchen the size of a broom closet!

I think that's probably about the size of it :)

Hmm... In his eponymous novel, Kurt Vonnegut has a waitress in a bar call out "Breakfast of Champions!" every time she serves a customer a Martini.

Personally, for me it's Filboid Studge, or nothing at all.

Well, beds do tend to collapse when Jan is around, it may not be entirely Ambers fault...

And the merge conflict? Something didn't match up in it, usually I got it when I manually changed the code after the merge or try to merge again from an older version of the code, maybe Jan took a bite from the banana after merging it with the cereals, you know how version control sometimes can't handle inserts like this. Or the banana simply was too old :-) (my bowels can't handle too much banana either...)

Easy solution to fix loose screw in bed to prevent legs from falling off during pouncing.

1, Find screw and place in hole. 2, Apply Epoxy to screw. 3, Tighten with screwdriver. 4, Solder. Just to be sure...

5, (optional if circumstance warrants) Get fire extinguisher and put out glue fire.

@soriac Don't you mean when Jan and Amber are around? I seem to recall several times in "College Catastrophe" Amber was always visiting Jan when the bed collapsed.

Panel 5: Use of pogo stick... denied! Or... This is why you should check the structural sturdiness of the frame before using the handcuf- bonk!

@drivernjax Jan has known Wolf for quite a while now, I like to think that Wolf has just made it a point to sabotage every bed Jan uses. Jan lives in a world where all beds are unreliable and that's just normal to him now.

Uh....did everyone else miss the bra on the floor and the obviously undressed Amber on the bed? Is it really any wonder the bed collapsed? For what's it's worth I've had to fix a bed or two in my time so I know how Jan feels.

Panel 4: "Amber, seriously, I think having me roleplay as 'Mr. Goodwrench' is going a little too far."

ndrvr, what do you think she was leaping for? My suggestion...put box springs and matress on floor, rather than frame, and you don't have that problem any more. Granted, you lose under-bed storage, but still... That reminds me...is Jan still using that username? ;-)

@Vulpis sure it went like this:

Window blinds were still open so Amber went to close'em, instead slipped because of Jan's "Provocative Amber Calendar" on the floor (12 pages flip-it) and "finished" the bed with a "body splash" ^^. ...Jan was still in the bathroom brushing his teeth at that time.

What do we learn? Calendars like these are hazardous and belong under the blanket :-).

Jeeze, somebeds beds just weren't made to handle "vertical oscillations."
