@Corvus SWiftwing, there's potentially 8 people at that table, you can't reasonably expect one server to carry 8 plates. Hence the second server.

And why photo your food? It kinda makes me wonder that you're trying to make others jealous over a sammich or steak.

I think I can say that I only took one picture of food in my life. Went to a American Chinese buffet after the covid lock down was over....I had shrimps, scallops, crab legs, peanut butter chicken......it was worth a picture

@ Treascair: I went to MegaPlex Furry Con here in Orlando last weekend, and while there had the most delicious, succulent 16oz ribeye steak with Au Gratin potatoes I've eaten in a long time. The two friends I was dining with also had superbly prepared meals and yes......we took pictures of all of it. And we had our waiter use my camera to shoot all of us from a couple of angles with these incredible meals.

...And painters throughout the ages and most every culture have for hundreds if not thousands of years. painted meal after meal, bowls of fruit, delicate dishes, racks of meat. And yet everyone seems to think that making pictures of food is a modern contrivance.

@Rocketroo : Well one thing. Today it is the meal of that very moment. Don't think is possible to paint a picture of you meal so fast and then put out on display before the food gets cold ^^;

But yes, paintings of food and later fancy pictures of food. That is very true, they have been with us for a looong time. Might even be cave paintings of food ;)

Usually this sort of thing is done on a theme of some sort, though. Like the guy who has a blog consisting of him showing pictures of various Japanese vending machines he's gotten.

@Jan I noticed something odd...the place settings. The napkins are all on the left side of the paper place mats, the drinks are also to the left on the table, and they're using their left hands to take the photos of their food with their phones, so...are the people in their world predominately left-handed, is that a "goof", or are you trying to see if anyone noticed? O.o
