A 9 VDC battery is only going to charge a cap to 9 v, so it won't be felt unless you touch the leads to the tongue, then it will only be a slight momentary tingle. Now, if you were going to take a 4 Farad cap and charge it with, say, a 400 VDC power supply, then, yeah, it would be felt. Wolfram would have had better luck with a cattle prod.

Any capacitor and small 9V battery is not enough. The voltage is too small.

In reality you need capacitor arround 2μF .. 4μF for 350V and you can charge it directly from 240V outlet. Or you can use small battery with small voltage, but you need transformer, with large winding ratio (at least 1:100?). That are the simplest ways...

Yes, it is dangerous. But schooll was boring time to time, and we was technicians with plenty of material...

Point is - you need at least several hundrets of volts to be able overcome surface resistance of skin and even more if you want shock someone trough clothes.

lol, I remember the days of auto tech.....fully charged distributor capacitor thrown gently at everyone was surprising, but when they caught it, that's when the surprise truly came to light!

@Tir_Amahn the coccyx is the very very base of the spine right by your butt. It's called the 'tail bone' as in all mammals bar us, it is where the spine naturally progresses on into the tail itself so yus, yus he does have one xD. It also hurts like a beeyach when you take a hit to it such as missing your sitting and taking a wooden bar say to it. Noooot cool xD
