Among lions, there's a reason the females do the hunting... ...most of the males actually suck at it, like stave to death in the wild suck.

I'm not saying they're not dangerous, but if I can juke a full grown lion with a top speed of 50 m/h and my top speeds only 10, I'm not considering him a real threat personally. The lioness however, knows a bit more about hunting smart. Bring backup if only to cut off exit points, don't bother trying to out run something that has more of an agility advantage as opposed to a speed advantage, heard it, or even them, into a trap, then pounce. Clean effortless kill(s).

Do some of the research on the wildlife in your favorite stories. You'd be fascinated by the information available. Check it again in a decade, stuff gets updated all the time. Misconceptions get corrected or new evidence points out new details previously missed altogether.
