@unci: I'm not an MMORPG player myself, but I always assumed that "epic drops" are those very rare kind of extraordinary loot that sometimes the random generator of the game produces and the slain enemy drops.

At least that's what I suppose the punchline is, Jan's afraid that any kind of engagement ring for Amber would fall behind without any +30 Endurance spell on it :-)

Why am I expecting a cosplay of some game with rarity such as borderlands 2 with paint ball guns and when Jan gets "killed" by Amber he drops a box with purple marker pen on it says "Ring of I love you will you marry me and stop telling me that I'm not acting my role properly"... While Abmer is yelling at him for doing his "Super Mega AOE 2000" Incorrectly

True love there guys.

Also what on earth makes me think of this on the spot...

I think the Epic Drop in this strip is what Jan's courage level is taking with that little box in his hands... Not that I can blame him, that's a big step and he seems pretty high up.

Depending on how you look at it, he just has to spin up a proper angle to that ring. For example, he could follow up her comment with: "You know, I have a ring for you that already has a most coveted gem in it." If that won't pique her attention, he could say, she can graft more gem slots onto it.

Well Jan, you'll just have to present her with the "one of a kind", epically-legendary, astoundingly-awesome, highly coveted "Ring of Jan's True Love"... Like Radar said, it's all about the presentation good sir ;)

In addition, I'll throw in at no charge... a +20% Affection crit enchant, and a +90% Situational Avoidance enchant (good for avoiding personal encounters with falling anvils... a must-have enchant for any coyote-type individual... don't ask).

Oh yeah... And Dawn the Drmooid says she'll throw in a +20% Cuddleable enchant as well. Wait... is cuddleability even a tracked stat?

Ah, come on Jan. Where's that lion strength, that lion fortitude, that lion pride. (Wait a minute, not THAT kind of pride, I doubt Amber would agree to that.)
