I'm guessing Silver isn't lying flat as the axe came down and it's missed her. The alternative would be too upsetting to imagine. :o

@ Kangaar Foxfire and @ Baron Akid, there's a sword there and, in the background, there are some sausages that can be seen more clearly in panel 4.

The boot is probably he one from panel 3, that can't be the speciality of panel 6. Maybe it's that somebody removed some of panel 4's sausages because the line is hanging differently. ^^

Jan is teasing us. The only thing worse than not seeing Silver be okay is for him to "switch to" Valley Vale for the next several comics. :(

I see it! You just slipped-in an ingenious way of putting the name of the webcomic "Sword and Sausages" in panel six, only visually represented as a real sword and sausages. XD

For the 6th panel, I think most of you figured out it was a reference to the comic's title. Extra points if you did not read the Patreon comments before guessing ^^

But perhaps, there is a secondary, more obscure reference. Something to do The Gneech's comic...?

That isn't the Singing Axe of Shattersong, the back edge is different (had to check the archives to get a look at that).

This place has a quasi-military look to it, makes me wonder who Kiela's friend is, maybe an . . . adventurer ?

...aand that's a wrap, folks. It was all leading to this moment, as foretold in the title, the first and last time a sword and sausage appeared in the same place and now it's all over. Their questionable decisions led them down a path of self-destruction effecting a chain of chaos that not even a fortune teller could guide them from in the end. GG Jan

Dear ladies and gentlefurs of the viewing audience. While I won't take the time to point out the excellent backgrounds in the above panels, I will however call your attention to the lack of blood splatter evidence in panel 8. If blood, the blade did not release, then our lovely vixen is not decease...

This lack of blood splatter... is proof positive that the pigeon axe-birds have failed in their efforts to advance their nefarious 'protection' schemes.

Evidence in my possession places pigeons at the grassy knoll, and I for one... flapping sounds

Sooo... Silver get a haircut? Because there is no blood, so there is no injuries - well, maybe some bruises, but nothing serious! But, by the reaction, what we can see on her legs and tail (i am talking about the muscle-twitch, whiich is something, what you only do, if you are alive, or your nerves are stimulated by electricity), that axe was VERY close! :D
