I'm getting more and more confused by the day about this.

For one, I still don't see how you couldn't have simply skipped ahead to the time of their arrival. They always could've "borrowed" a cart there, or Kiela could've done some fortune-telling to make money for a new one. Second, I'm sure Tor was already gonna pull the cart, so why the "incentive"?

Sorry if this sounds whiny, because I'm really not mad, simply confused beyond recognition. Like I said, neither of those things were really a problem in the first place.

@Ephesus What you're seeing is me being unhappy with an idea and trying to fix it. It's still a learning process after all these years. There are places in the story where I can skip ahead, but that leaves hanging threads, and I felt this is not one of those places.

Unfortunately, this chapter is not one where I had written the whole arc in advance, due to a severe shortage of time. I know there are specific story points to hit, but it's playing connect-the-dots that you sometimes end up with a left-handed banana instead of a right-handed one.

I know I've inevitably caused confusion and some readers will prefer the old gags better than the new ones, and vice versa. At the end of the day, I'm trying my best to create something that I'm personally satisfied with.

Do what you have to do to keep the characters from hijacking YOUR story Jan... and hopefully you won’t end up kidnapped by one of them, locked in a closet, and ghostwriting an arc for them while being fed graham crackers slipped under the door (long story... don’t ask). In the meantime, we’ll just hang on and enjoy the ride.

Although... I think Dawn the DrMooID kinda liked buffalo-guy, even if he did have a bit of a potty-mouth. :D

By the way, panel 2, the cart’s wheel (the one closest to Tor) looks square. Guess Wolf has been at work again. Also, I’m sure Tor is exceeding the recommended axel tolerance a wee bit (though a ravenous Silver is a very good excuse)...

WB101: On the subject of characters taking over a story, Ursula Vernon of Digger fame (among other comics), stated that while she argued with most of her characters at one point or another, she never won against Boneclaw Mother. Look up her comic Digger to find out why! ;D

"glowing bowels" made me think of a page in "goblinscomic.com" where someone said that eating too much of some kind of glowing fungus would "make your poop glow". (warning: that comic is VERY violent!)
