For lotsa reasons, neither S&S or 9-to-9 invite us to dwell too much on character sexuality, although there certainly are hints/tip-offs. Or to heck with being oblique?

Yes, that's exactly what those two are like in an er, amorous mood. I'm sure we're all sooo surprised. :- )
