Of course, this is the famous Hollywood rule, every fast paced pursuit needs a cliff where the vehicle falls into, explodes in mid-air with a giant fireball and crashes down leaving a massive crater on the ground. How a catapult could explode, I don't know, but hey, it's Tor and Silver we're talking about, so it is a quite possible outcome :-) But fear not Silver, usually if this happens to the hero, he or she will crawl out of the burning wreck with a scratched knee and ruffled up hair...

in warcraft there was a running theme of clicking the critters enough that they exploded, usually sheep, and they would say baa ram ewe before they exploded

either that or the Sheriff has the guards practicing in the shade of the cliffs
