And if the leopard spent all his income for this axe, whereas Silver didn't seem to mind the price, how much did they steal from poor Dehnys?

They're trying to be stealthy but that axe dosen't really blend well with the area so i'm thinking that he got robbed in more than one way. But one the up side he will always have something to play music on if the the warrior business doesn't work out.

Perhaps that humming axe can call / summon a Phoenix (if the phoenix can be considered as a bird). Either that leopard is lucky or unlucky for possessing that axe.

After thinking about it (quick run and hide :=3 ) having that axe may come in handy. As bandits their prey will not think they are nearby as the song birds will be chirping merrily. That would not be the case normally, as any disruption will cause song birds to flee, in most instances..

A humming axe, hmm. Its a bit big, can't hide it when you want to ambush passing caravan or other to get their money !

Maybe he should do a performance on the street with the axe and sing with it, maybe he/they will make more money that way !

Thanks for the comments everyone! The book should be ready by February 2015... I've got a LOT of prep work to do for it in the meantime. Funding from Patreon should be sufficient for the book -- I don't have any plans for a Kickstarter, although, if there's interest for a "Limited edition" book with more costly features (hardcover, fold-out pages, cel overlays etc.) that may be a possibility. I'll keep you all posted. Have a safe and happy New Year's holiday!

that is actually a great enchantment for bandits. The victims would never suspect an ambush in an area where the birds are singing. Too often we see that animals clear out of areas filled with malice, being a sign of an ambush. If anything, he picked a good weapon.

@Josh & Captain Awesome: Right now Jan is touring the U.S. and and during the weekend of 1/16/15 - 1/19/15 he will be attending Further Confusion 2015. As he has previously stated, he has no reliable internet access and he will probably update the comics once he returns home.

Let Jan enjoy his vacation and he will regale us with he continuing misadventures of Tor and Silver shortly. :=3

this reminds me of an old Bugs Bunny cartoon where Bugs had to recover "the singing sword" that had been stolen by the Black Knight (Yosemite Sam): Bugs sneaked in, picked up the sword, started to sneak out...and the sword started singing and gave him away!
